The second generation of Pokémon games were released between November 21st, 1999 (the initial release of Pokemon Gold & Silver in Japan) and November 2nd, 2001 when us poor swines in Europe finally got our hands on Pokemon Crystal. This generation of Pokémon games sold over 45 million copies worldwide between them. It should be noted that Pokémon Green was only released in Japan.
Spanning Feb 27th, 1996 from the initial release of Pokémon Red in Japan right the way up to the release of Pokemon Yellow in Europe on June 16th, 2000. Released on the Game Boy, and in the case of Pokemon Yellow also on the Game Boy Color.
